## Story

## The Missing Treasure

Once upon a time, in the beautiful kingdom of Aradale, there lived a kind and generous king named Harold. King Harold had many treasures that he cherished deeply, but one day something troubling happened. His most prized possession went missing!

The missing treasure was not gold. It was a small carved chest filled with letters from people the king had helped. King Harold read them whenever he needed to remember why kindness mattered.

When the chest disappeared, the king called for help.

Sir George arrived with his steady horse Ladybug. Sir Max came with his loyal dog Rover. Sir Henry came with his clever cat Whiskers.

"Please find it," King Harold said. "Those letters belong to the whole kingdom."

The knights listened carefully, checked the empty shelf, and found a trail of blue wax flakes leading away from the castle.

"A clue," Sir Henry said.

With maps in their packs and their companions by their sides, they rode toward the forest.

## The Search Begins

Sir George, Sir Max, and Sir Henry followed the wax flakes into the forest. Soon they found a wooden sign.

**Riddles ahead. Answer kindly.**

Near the sign, a group of fairies fluttered around a mushroom table. They loved riddles and were famous for testing travelers before pointing them toward hidden paths.

"We are looking for King Harold's letter chest," Sir Max said. "Have you seen it?"

"Answer one riddle," said the smallest fairy, "and we will share what we know."

The fairy asked, "What grows bigger when it is given away?"

The knights thought. Ladybug nudged Sir George's shoulder. Rover wagged his tail at Sir Max. Whiskers curled against Sir Henry's boot.

"Kindness," Sir Henry said.

The fairies smiled and pointed to a narrow path. "A wagon passed this way at dawn. It left blue wax on the stones."

## The Hidden Cave

The path led to a hidden cave covered in vines. Blue wax dotted the ground outside.

"Look," Sir George said. "The trail leads inside."

Ladybug stopped at the entrance and stamped one hoof.

"Good point," Sir Max said. "We check first."

The knights shone their lanterns inside. Crystals sparkled on the walls, and a stone bridge crossed a shallow stream.

Two bridge keepers sat beside the stream, eating berry cakes.

"Travelers?" one asked.

"Clue seekers," Sir George replied. "We are following a missing chest."

"Then you need the bridge riddle," said the other keeper. "What can cross water without getting wet?"

Rover barked at the reflection of the bridge on the stream.

"A reflection," Sir Max said.

The keepers moved aside. "The wagon went toward the river."

Another clue waited beyond the cave.

## The River and the Boulder

The river had risen after rain, and the old bridge was closed for repair.

"We should not cross here," Sir Henry said. "The water is too fast."

Whiskers jumped onto a low branch and meowed toward a line of stepping stones upstream.

"A safer crossing," Sir Max said.

Ladybug carried the packs across one at a time. Rover found the dry stones. Whiskers waited on the far bank and watched the path.

On the other side, an enormous boulder blocked the trail. It was too heavy for one knight, but not for all of them.

"Together on three," Sir George said.

They pushed. Ladybug leaned. Rover dug loose dirt away from the base. The boulder rolled aside and uncovered a strip of blue cloth.

"From the wagon," Sir Henry said. "We are close."

## The Abandoned Castle

The trail ended at an abandoned watchtower. Vines covered its walls, and wagon tracks curved behind a broken gate.

The group entered quietly. Ladybug gave a soft neigh and pointed her nose toward a bush.

Behind it sat two tired travelers with King Harold's chest between them.

"Please do not be angry," one traveler said. "We found the chest on the road after it slipped from a wagon. We were bringing it to the nearest guard post, but our wheel broke."

Sir Henry opened the chest. The letters were still inside, tied with blue wax seals.

"Then we can help each other," Sir George said.

The knights repaired the wagon wheel with rope and a spare pin. Rover found the missing pin under a fern, and Whiskers guarded the letters while everyone worked.

Soon the travelers, knights, and companions were all ready to return to Aradale.

## King Harold's Gratitude

King Harold was overjoyed when the knights returned with the letter chest.

"Thank you," said the king, holding the chest close. "You did more than find what was missing. You listened, solved problems, and helped strangers on the road."

The travelers bowed. "We are sorry we worried the kingdom," one said. "Next time, we will send word sooner."

King Harold smiled. "And next time, my wagon drivers will tie the chest down better."

Everyone laughed.

## The Knights Ride Home

As they left the castle, Sir George turned to Ladybug.

"You found safe crossings," he said. Ladybug tossed her mane.

Sir Max scratched Rover behind the ears. "You found the pin."

Sir Henry bowed to Whiskers. "And you guarded the letters like a royal librarian."

The knights rode home side by side. The treasure had been found, but the best part of the quest was clearer than ever: every good team has more than one kind of strength.
