## Story

## Introducing Daisy, the Shy Singer

Daisy loved to sing. She would hum tunes while playing with her toys or sing along to her favorite songs on the radio. But when it came to singing in front of others, she always felt shy and nervous.

One day, Daisy's parents told her they signed her up for beach camp for the summer. At first, Daisy was excited about spending time at the beach and making new friends. However, when she realized that there would be activities involving singing and performing in front of others, her stomach tightened.

As much as Daisy wanted to go to beach camp and have fun like other kids her age, she kept wondering whether her voice would sound good enough.

The night before going to camp, Daisy kept tossing and turning in bed. She thought about all that could go wrong if she sang in public. What if someone laughed at her? What if everyone else was better than her?

Despite those worries, Daisy woke up determined to try the things that made her happy.

With a steady breath and a smile on her face, Daisy set out toward camp.

## Making Friends

Daisy felt her heart pounding as she stepped off the bus and onto the sandy beach. She had never been to summer camp before, and the thought of making new friends was both exciting and new.

As she looked around at all the other kids, Daisy felt a pang of nervousness in her stomach. Everyone seemed so confident and outgoing. Daisy hoped she could find her own way to join in.

A girl with curly hair skipped over to Daisy. "Hi! I am Lily," she said.

Daisy grinned back at this friendly introduction, feeling a little less intimidated already. Soon enough, another girl named Mia joined them too.

Before long, Daisy was playing tag and hide-and-seek with her new friends, giggling as they ran through the sand dunes near their cabins.

They showed her how to collect seashells along the shore while sharing stories about home, family, and the things they missed.

With each passing day, Daisy's confidence grew. Lily, Mia, and the other campers helped her feel included in all kinds of activities.

By the end of week one at beach camp, Daisy felt included. Someone was always nearby, ready to laugh, play, or walk beside her along the shore.

## Discovering Joy Through Music

At beach camp, Daisy was introduced to a group of friendly and fun-loving kids. They started playing games that involved singing and dancing, and even though Daisy felt nervous at first, she decided to join in.

As they sang silly songs and danced together on the sand, Daisy realized that music made her happy. She could feel the rhythm in her body as it moved with the beat.

Daisy also discovered something else: music helped her connect with others. As she sang with the group, she felt like they were all sharing one bright moment. Even though they came from different backgrounds, ages, and personalities, everyone came together through music.

The more time Daisy spent singing with the other campers, the more confident she became. It was like a part of herself that had been hidden away was finally starting to shine through.

Every day during their free time at beach camp turned into a mini-concert where they would sing their hearts out under the sun!

## A Band of Friends

Daisy had never felt so happy before. She was surrounded by good friends who loved spending time with her, and they all shared a love for music. It was amazing how quickly they had become such good friends at beach camp.

One day, while they were playing games on the beach, one of Daisy's new friends suggested that they form a band together. At first, Daisy was not sure if she wanted to be part of it because she was still nervous about performing in front of others.

But then another friend said something that made her feel better. "This can be just for fun. We can practice first and decide together."

With those words ringing in her ears, Daisy decided to join the band. They worked hard every day and practiced their songs until Daisy could sing the first verse without looking down at her feet.

As the end-of-camp performance drew closer, Daisy started feeling confident. Her new friends had been cheering her on from the beginning, and she knew they would be close by during the performance.

Finally came the big day when their band performed in front of everyone at beach camp. The group took turns singing and playing instruments while dancing across the stage. There were some mistakes here and there, but everyone kept smiling and having fun.

As soon as their performance ended with an enthusiastic round of applause from everyone watching them, including thrilled parents, Daisy realized something very important: making music with good friends can help you grow your confidence while having lots of fun along the way.

## The Big Performance

The day of the end-of-camp performance had finally arrived. Daisy was excited to share what she and her friends had been working on for weeks, but a knot in her stomach kept getting tighter as the time approached.

As they walked towards the stage, Daisy's heart began to race. But looking around at her new friends' smiling faces and hearing their encouraging words gave her comfort.

Finally, it was their turn to perform. As soon as they stepped onto the stage, Daisy could feel everyone's eyes on them. Then she saw how relaxed and confident her friends were, which helped calm some of her own nerves.

They started playing their song, softly at first. With each verse, Daisy's voice grew steadier, and the melody drifted across the campsite.

Daisy closed her eyes and listened to her friends beside her. The clapping, whispers, and rustling chairs faded until only the music remained.

When they finished the final notes, applause rose from the crowd. Daisy opened her eyes and saw her friends grinning at her.

"We did it," she whispered.

## Finding Your Voice

When applause started to rain down on them, Daisy pressed one hand to her chest and laughed. Her heart was beating so fast, she thought it would burst, but in that moment, she felt like anything was possible.

As the crowd continued to clap and cheer, Daisy looked around at her new friends. They all had huge grins on their faces, and some were even jumping up and down with excitement. In that moment, Daisy knew that they were more than just a band. They were a team.

After the performance ended, everyone rushed over to congratulate them. Daisy's cheeks hurt from smiling so much as people hugged her and told her how amazing she was. She felt proud of herself for stepping into the spotlight.

Daisy had found her voice at beach camp, and it felt bigger than singing. It felt like standing tall as herself.

As Daisy packed up her things to leave beach camp behind, her smile softened. She did not want to say goodbye to her new friends or leave this place where she had discovered so much about herself.

As she hugged each person goodbye, Daisy promised to stay in touch until next summer. Wherever they went next, the songs they had shared would help them remember beach camp.
