## Story

The Oakwood Library's cozy silence was broken only by the gentle swish of Eddie the Elephant's trunk as he arranged books on the wooden shelves. He loved helping Ms. Owl, the librarian, almost as much as he loved reading the stories himself.

"Your memory is remarkable, Eddie," Ms. Owl hooted softly. "You remember where so many books belong."

Eddie beamed with pride, his trunk curling with delight. But in his excitement to finish before afternoon story time, he began moving too quickly.

The next morning, the library felt upside down.

"My favorite fairy tale is not where it should be!" squeaked Molly Mouse.

Peter Rabbit thumped his foot anxiously. "And I cannot find any gardening books in the garden section!"

Eddie's stomach twisted as he noticed cookbooks mixed with adventure stories and science books tangled with poetry. His trunk drooped as he realized what he had done.

"I will fix everything myself," Eddie whispered, slipping between the towering shelves.

He stretched his trunk high, trying to reach the astronomy books that had somehow landed in the fiction section. But the higher he reached, the more his trunk trembled.

Crash! A row of books tumbled down. Eddie tried to catch them, but his trunk bumped more loose.

"Goodness gracious!" Ms. Owl fluttered over, followed by curious animals.

Eddie's ears burned hot with embarrassment as everyone stared at the scattered books. Taking a steady breath, Eddie stepped forward.

"I have to tell you something," he said, his voice shaky but clear. "Yesterday, I mixed up the books because I was working too fast. I thought I could fix it by myself, but I made it worse. I am sorry."

To his surprise, Beatrice Beaver's whiskers twitched with a smile. "We all make mistakes, Eddie. Let us help! I am excellent at organizing."

"And I can reach those high shelves easily!" Sophie Squirrel chittered, already scaling a bookcase.

The library hummed with teamwork. Eddie noticed Timothy Tiger struggling to remember the non-fiction system.

"I know a fun way!" Eddie said. "Think: 'Science and stars up high, history down low, geography books where the maps like to go!'"

The animals created more silly rhymes, turning the big task into a game. Even Ms. Owl joined in, adding her own wise and witty verses about library organization.

When the final book found its proper home, Ms. Owl gathered everyone in the reading nook.

"Today's story time will be extra special," she announced. "Eddie and his friends will share their favorite books and favorite moments from today."

As Eddie looked around at his new friends, his heart felt as full as the freshly organized shelves.

"Sometimes a mistake can become a good story," he said, wrapping his trunk gently around a beloved book, "when friends help write the next page."
