"Jack," said the king, "I need you to guard an old section of the castle that has been abandoned for many years." Jack stood a little taller. This was an important task, and he had never been trusted with something so crucial before. As he began his watch, strange things started happening. At first, Jack thought it might be his imagination playing tricks on him. Then he heard noises coming from within the walls and footsteps echoing through empty halls. Something was not right in this part of the castle. Jack took his lantern and decided to investigate. ## The Mysterious Noises Jack had been tasked with guarding the abandoned section of the castle. As he sat there, he heard strange noises coming from within the walls. Together, they warned the king, locked the secret passage, and caught the strangers before anyone was hurt. ## Recognition and Knighthood King George was grateful when he learned how carefully Jack had followed the clues.
