## Story

## The Magic Seeds

Benny the rabbit and Sammy the squirrel were playing in the forest when Sammy spotted a sparkle under a pile of leaves.

"What is this?" Benny asked, lifting a tiny seed that shone like a drop of sunlight.

"I do not know," Sammy said, "but it looks like magic."

A robin landed on a branch above them. "Those are my magic seeds," she chirped.

"Your seeds?" Benny said.

"They grow best when they are planted with care," the robin explained. "They can become flowers, trees, bridges, or food. But magic should help the forest, not only surprise it."

"We will be careful," Sammy promised.

Benny tucked the seeds into a leaf pouch, and the two friends set off to find the right places for them.

## Planting the Magic Seeds

Benny and Sammy chose a patch of soft, rich soil near a sunny clearing for the first seed.

Benny dug a small hole. Sammy placed the seed inside. Together, they covered it with soil and sprinkled it with water from a curled leaf.

The ground gave a gentle wiggle.

"Is it working?" Benny whispered.

A stem curled upward. One leaf opened, then another. At last, a rainbow-colored flower bloomed, bright and soft in the middle of the clearing.

"It grew because we chose a good place," Sammy said.

"Then every seed needs a good place," Benny said. "Not any random place."

## The Rainbow-Colored Flower

Benny and Sammy leaned closer to the rainbow flower. Its petals glowed red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and violet.

"It smells like honey," Benny said.

"And sunshine," Sammy added.

Tiny fairies peeked out from between the petals. They wore hats made of pollen and had wings as thin as moonlight.

"Thank you for planting us where the bees can visit," one fairy said.

Benny quickly put his paw behind his back. "I almost tried to catch you. I am sorry."

"Looking is kinder than grabbing," the fairy said, smiling.

Benny nodded. The flower was not a toy. It was a home.

When they left the clearing, they stepped carefully around the roots and promised to visit again.

## The Giant Tree

The second seed went into a bare patch where birds had no branches for nests. By afternoon, a young tree had stretched high above Benny and Sammy.

Its leaves were broad enough to shade the moss. Its branches were strong enough for nests but low enough for small animals to reach safely.

A family of sparrows fluttered down.

"May we build here?" asked the smallest sparrow.

"Of course," Sammy said. "That is why we planted it."

Benny touched the bark gently. "Hello, tree. Please take good care of them."

The leaves rustled as if the tree were answering yes.

## The Enormous Beanstalk

Benny wanted to plant the next seed beside a tall rock.

"Maybe it will grow into a ladder to the clouds," he said.

"Then we should watch it carefully," Sammy replied.

The seed sprouted into a beanstalk that grew higher and higher. Benny's paws twitched with excitement.

"I want to see the top," he said.

"Wait," Sammy said. "If it is still growing, the stem may be tender."

Just then, a small *snap* sounded from one curling tendril. Benny stepped back.

"You are right," he said. "Magic still needs patience."

They tied a soft ribbon around the beanstalk as a warning for other animals: Let it grow today. Visit tomorrow.

## Bridges of Vines and Smiling Flowers

The next seed grew into vines that curled from tree to tree, forming gentle bridges over a muddy dip in the path.

"A bridge," Benny called.

"We should test it first," Sammy said.

They pressed the vines with one paw, then two. When the bridge held steady, they crossed slowly. It bounced a little, but it did not wobble too much.

On the other side, a row of tiny smiling flowers opened along the path.

"Hello," Benny said, waving.

The flowers nodded in the breeze.

"They are not for picking," Sammy reminded him.

Benny lowered his paw. "Right. We can smile back instead."

## Fruits of Delicious Treats

The final seed became a small tree with colorful fruit that smelled like sweet berries and warm cinnamon.

Benny reached for the first fruit, then paused.

"Should we ask the robin first?" he said.

The robin swooped down. "A wise question. Take only what you need, and leave some for others."

Benny picked two fruits. Sammy called the nearby animals. Soon rabbits, birds, mice, and beetles gathered for a small forest feast.

"Magic tastes better when everyone gets a share," Sammy said.

Benny grinned with juice on his whiskers. "Especially when it tastes like berries."

## The Magic of Imagination

Benny and Sammy sat beneath the giant tree at sunset. Around them, the forest felt brighter: fairies rested in the rainbow flower, sparrows sang from new branches, animals crossed the vine bridge, and everyone shared fruit from the little tree.

"I thought magic meant making anything we wanted," Benny said.

"I think it means imagining what might help," Sammy said.

"And waiting when something needs time," Benny added, looking at the beanstalk.

The robin landed beside them. "You used the seeds well."

Benny and Sammy smiled at each other. They had grown flowers, trees, bridges, and fruit, but the best thing they had grown was a wiser kind of imagination.
