## Story

## The Secret Grove

Far within the woods, there was a hidden grove where tiny pixies cared for a crystal. The crystal did not make everyone happy by magic, but it did glow warmly when the grove was tended with care.

One morning, the crystal was gone.

Pixie Poppy found tiny paw prints in the moss. Pixie Daisy found a trail of acorn shells. Pixie Rose found a leaf note that said, "Borrowed for our treehouse lamp."

"The young squirrels must not know how important it is," said Poppy.

"Then we should explain," said Daisy.

The pixies packed water, a ribbon map, and a small lantern before setting off.

## A Walk Through the Woods

The pixies followed the acorn trail through the woods.

At the river, a beaver helped them cross on his sturdy bridge. The pixies thanked him by stacking extra twigs beside his dam.

In the dense trees, an old owl flew ahead and called directions clearly. "Left at the fern. Right at the pine. Stop before the bramble."

At dusk, fireflies lit the path so no one stumbled.

Every helper made the walk easier, and every pixie made sure to say thank you.

## Talking with the Squirrels

The squirrel treehouse glowed with the crystal's warm light.

Poppy called from the branch below. "Hello. We came for the grove crystal."

Three young squirrels peeked over the railing.

"We thought it was a pretty lamp," one said. "We did not know it belonged to everyone."

The pixies went up with the owl nearby. Rose explained how the crystal helped mark the center of the grove and guide small creatures home at twilight.

The squirrels looked sorry.

"We should have asked," they said.

"You can help us carry it back," said Daisy.

Together, they wrapped the crystal in soft leaves and lowered it with a vine rope.

## What They Remembered

The grove cheered when the pixies and squirrels returned with the crystal.

The squirrels placed it back on its mossy stand. The crystal glowed, soft and steady.

"We are sorry we took it," said the smallest squirrel.

"Thank you for bringing it home," said Poppy.

After that, the pixies made a sharing shelf near the grove entrance. It held pinecones, shiny pebbles, and safe treasures anyone could borrow after writing their name on a leaf tag.

The squirrels visited often, but they always asked first.
