## Story

Prince Aldric was not like other princes.

Old forest magic had touched him when he was small, and now silver starlight shimmered beneath his skin whenever he felt strong emotions.

Most days, he tried not to feel anything at all.

He preferred wandering the Glimmerwood Forest by himself, where diamond-bright trees sparkled in the sunlight and flowers glowed like tiny lanterns at dusk.

The forest creatures never stared at his glowing hands or whispered behind their paws.

One twilight evening, Aldric discovered something troubling near the Crystal Brook.

Three rabbits huddled together, their noses twitching nervously.

A fourth rabbit sat quietly beneath a willow whose leaves chimed like bells.

"Why does Bramble sit by himself?" Aldric asked.

The largest rabbit shuffled his feet.

"He is different," the rabbit mumbled. "His fur is patched with brown and white, not pure white like ours. He does not belong."

Aldric's chest tightened.

Silver light flickered across his fingertips.

He knew exactly how Bramble felt.

The young prince paused and steadied his voice.

His tutors always said princes should be brave, but standing up to others made his stomach twist into knots.

"That is not fair," Aldric said quietly, his voice barely louder than the tinkling leaves. "Bramble should play too."

The rabbits twitched their ears but hopped away, leaving Bramble still by the willow.

Aldric's shoulders sagged.

Speaking up had not changed anything.

The silver glow beneath his skin dimmed to almost nothing.

"Thank you for trying," Bramble whispered.

Aldric sat beside the small rabbit, feeling like he had failed.

But Bramble's grateful eyes sparked something warm inside him.

The next day, Aldric returned with a plan.

He had brought honey cakes from the palace kitchen.

Surely the rabbits would include Bramble if they all shared a treat together.

"I brought something delicious," Aldric announced, holding out the golden cakes.

The three rabbits bounded over eagerly.

But when Bramble hopped closer, they formed a tight circle with their backs to him, blocking him out.

"There is plenty for everyone," Aldric insisted.

"We do not want to share with him," the largest rabbit said flatly.

Aldric's face flushed hot.

Silver light blazed up his arms.

He wanted to shout, to make them listen, but his throat felt tight and his heart hammered against his ribs.

The rabbits scattered at his sudden brightness, taking the cakes with them.

Aldric slumped against a sparkling oak tree.

Bramble settled beside him.

"Maybe some things cannot be fixed," Bramble said softly.

"No," Aldric said, though his voice shook. "That is not right."

I need to be braver.

Smarter.

He thought hard.

The treat plan had not worked.

Gentle words had not worked.

What would?

Then he noticed how the forest creatures always gathered when the ancient Moonflower bloomed. Its petals opened only once a season, releasing a fragrance that made everyone feel peaceful and connected.

But the Moonflower grew near the Thorn Grove, where twisted brambles formed a maze so dense that even the deer walked around it.

"I know what to do," Aldric said, standing up.

"But I cannot do it by myself. Will you help me?"

Bramble's eyes widened.

"Me?"

"You," Aldric said firmly. "You are clever and small."

"I am enchanted and can light the way."

Together, we can reach the Moonflower.

They entered the Thorn Grove at dusk.

Dimness pooled between the thorny branches like spilled ink.

Aldric's hands trembled, but he let the silver light flow freely, illuminating the twisted path ahead.

"There," Bramble called, spotting a narrow gap between thorns.

"I am too big," Aldric said.

"You can squeeze through if it feels safe."

"What if I cannot find the way back?"

"I will keep glowing," Aldric promised. "Follow my light back."

Bramble darted through the gap.

Aldric waited, his heart pounding, silver light streaming from his palms like moonbeams.

Strange sounds echoed through the grove.

Every instinct told him to step away.

But he stayed.

Minutes felt like hours.

Then Bramble emerged, carrying a single luminous Moonflower petal in his mouth.

"You did it," Aldric whispered.

"We did it," Bramble corrected.

Together, they navigated back through the thorny path, Aldric's light guiding them both to the open trail.

At the Crystal Brook, they placed the Moonflower petal on a smooth stone.

Its fragrance drifted through the forest, sweet and calming.

Creatures emerged from burrows and branches: deer, foxes, songbirds, and yes, the three rabbits.

Everyone gathered in a circle, drawn by the flower's magic.

In its peaceful glow, differences seemed to fade.

The largest rabbit sat down next to Bramble, seeing patched fur and another forest friend.

"I was wrong," the rabbit said quietly. "I felt nervous about anything different."

"But you were brave enough to help us all."

Aldric did not correct him.

Bramble had been brave too.

They both had been.

Sometimes standing up for others means doing something difficult together, showing everyone a different way to see the world.

Under the stars, the forest creatures played together, all of them, including Bramble.

Aldric's silver glow pulsed gently, no longer something to hide but a light that had guided them through the thorn grove.

A small fox approached him.

"Will you play with us too, Prince Aldric?"

Aldric smiled, letting his light shine freely.

"I would love to."

And in the Glimmerwood Forest, where trees sparkled and flowers glowed, no one was left out anymore.

Not the patched rabbit, not the glowing prince, no one at all.
