## Story

Prince Lumino polished his crystal ball until it gleamed like a captured moon.

Through his tower window, the magical forest sparkled with trees of silver bark, flowers that hummed soft lullabies, and moss that glowed gentle blue.

Three young rabbits hopped past, chasing butterflies made of starlight.

The smallest one spotted him and waved.

"Prince Lumino," the smallest one called.

"Want to catch butterflies with us?"

Lumino's fingers tightened around the crystal ball.

What if they asked to hold it?

What if their paws were too small, too clumsy?

His stomach knotted.

"Maybe another day," he called down.

The rabbit's ears drooped.

She turned away, and Lumino pulled his curtains shut.

His enchanted toys surrounded him: a puzzle box that solved itself, a silver bird that sang without moving its beak, and a top that spun forever.

Beautiful.

Perfect.

Safe.

But the tower felt cold, even with all that magic glowing around him.

Three mornings later, wings fluttered at Lumino's window.

The wise owl perched on his sill, a scroll tied with golden ribbon clutched in her talons.

"Special delivery, young prince."

Lumino unrolled the parchment.

Shimmering letters danced across the page: *You are invited to the Grand Forest Festival.

Bring your favorite treasure to share with new friends.*

His heart leaped.

The festival.

He had heard about the floating lanterns, the cakes that tasted like moonbeams, and the games that lasted until stars filled the sky.

Then one word caught his eye: *share*.

His hands went cold.

"Everyone brings something precious," the owl said, preening her feathers.

"What if someone drops it?

What if it breaks?"

The owl's amber eyes studied him.

"What good is treasure nobody sees?"

She spread her wings and disappeared into the sparkling trees.

Lumino spent two days pacing between his toys.

He wanted to go. He wanted to taste those cakes, play those games, and maybe make a friend.

But every time he imagined someone else touching his crystal ball, his chest squeezed tight.

Finally, he decided.

He would attend the festival, but he would bring only one thing: a tiny marble that glowed like a firefly.

Small enough to hide in his pocket.

Safe from everyone's hands.

The festival clearing took Lumino's breath away.

Lanterns floated overhead, painting rainbow colors across the moss.

Tables overflowed with treats smelling of honey and cinnamon.

Children laughed everywhere, their voices mixing with wind chime melodies.

The three rabbits bounded over immediately.

"You came," cried the smallest one.

"Did you bring your amazing toys?"

Lumino's hand found the marble in his pocket, hidden from view.

"I brought something," Lumino said, "but it is delicate."

"Can we see?"

"It is safer where it is."

The rabbit's whiskers drooped.

She hopped away toward a game where children tossed glowing spheres that left trails of colored light.

A fox kit approached next, juggling stones that hummed different notes.

"Want to trade?

You try mine, I try yours?"

"No, thank you."

The fox kit shrugged and joined others building a tower from floating blocks.

A squirrel invited him to play tag.

A hedgehog asked him to help weave flower crowns.

A bluebird wondered whether he would like to hear a story.

Each time, Lumino refused, his hand clutching the hidden marble.

One by one, the children stopped asking.

They formed circles that did not include him.

They shared toys he would not touch.

They whispered jokes he could not hear from where he stood apart.

Lumino watched them play, that tight feeling in his chest growing heavier.

Even the honeycakes tasted like dust.

"The view is better with company."

Lumino jumped.

A girl wearing a crown of living flowers sat beside him.

Princess Stella from the meadow kingdom.

In her hands rested a music box carved from moonstone, playing the most beautiful melody Lumino had ever heard.

"This was my grandmother's," Stella said softly.

"She made it before she became a star.

It is my most precious treasure."

"It is beautiful."

"I almost left it home today."

Stella traced the box's carved edges.

"I worried someone might drop it, scratch it, or lose it."

"Then why did you bring it?"

Stella held the music box toward a passing hedgehog.

"Would you like to listen closer?"

The hedgehog's eyes widened.

She leaned in carefully, her spines relaxing as the melody washed over her.

"Thank you," the hedgehog whispered, before scurrying away with a smile.

Stella turned back to Lumino.

"I used to keep it locked in my room, thinking if nobody touched it, it would stay perfect forever."

She paused.

"But keeping it hidden hurt me more than any accident could.

The music sounded too quiet when only I could hear it."

She touched the box gently, making it chime.

"The first time I shared it, my hands shook.

But nothing bad happened.

Now when it plays, I remember every friend who has listened with me.

The music sounds happier because it has been shared."

Lumino pulled the marble from his pocket.

In the festival light, it looked impossibly small.

"What if something goes wrong?"

Stella smiled.

"What if something goes right?"

Lumino found the smallest rabbit near the dancing circle.

His heart hammered against his ribs.

"Would you like to hold something special?"

The rabbit's ears shot straight up.

He opened his palm, revealing the glowing marble.

But worry rose in his throat, tangling his words.

"Maybe you can look first.

Please do not touch yet."

The rabbit leaned close, then hopped backward, shaking her head.

"That is okay.

I understand."

She started to leave, and something inside Lumino's chest cracked open.

"Wait."

The rabbit turned back.

Lumino remembered Stella's shaking hands.

Her quiet music.

Her smile when the hedgehog had listened.

"You can hold it."

He placed the marble in her paw.

The rabbit's entire face lit up like sunrise.

She cradled the marble carefully, watching tiny rainbows dance across her fur.

"It is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen."

Her paw slipped.

The marble tumbled through the air.

The rabbit lunged.

Her paw caught it, bobbled it, then watched in horror as it bounced off her nose and rolled straight into a thick bed of moon lilies.

Time stopped.

"I am sorry," the rabbit sobbed.

"I am so sorry.

I did not mean to drop it."

But Lumino was not listening.

His biggest worry had happened.

Everything he had been nervous about had come true.

"I knew it," he said, his voice sharp as ice.

"I knew I should not have shared.

I am never sharing anything again."

He turned away from her tears, from Stella's worried face, from all of it.

"Wait."

Stella's voice stopped him.

"You are leaving her crying?

You are leaving your marble in the flowers?"

"It does not matter anymore."

"It matters to her," Stella said softly.

"And I think it still matters to you."

The rabbit was crying now, her siblings trying to comfort her.

Other children had gathered.

The fox kit stepped forward.

"We could help retrieve it."

"The leaves are too thick," Lumino said.

"Not if we work together," the squirrel suggested, already approaching the flowers.

Before Lumino could protest, children were gathering.

The fox kit tapped his musical stones, and their humming made the lily stems sway apart.

The squirrel crouched at the edge, her small paws reaching between the leaves.

The rabbits held glowing lanterns to light the leaves.

Stella opened her music box, and its melody helped everyone move slowly.

Lumino stood frozen, watching them all search carefully.

For his marble.

For him.

"Almost there," the squirrel called.

"Someone hold my tail, please."

Lumino's feet moved before he could think.

He grasped the squirrel's tail firmly.

"I have got you."

Together, they stretched farther.

The squirrel's paw closed around the marble.

"Got it."

They pulled back carefully.

The squirrel placed the marble in Lumino's hands, glowing perfectly, completely unharmed.

The smallest rabbit approached, eyes red and swollen.

"I am so sorry, Prince Lumino."

Lumino looked at her tear-stained face.

He looked at the grass stains on the squirrel's paws, the careful way the fox kit held the lilies aside, and the way Stella had brought her precious music box close to help.

These friends cared more about making things right than he had ever cared about the marble itself.

The tight feeling in his chest loosened, replaced by something warm and bright.

"It is okay," he said, meaning it completely.

"Accidents happen.

Thank you for trying so hard."

He held the marble out to the rabbit again.

"Want to try again?

I trust you."

The rabbit's eyes went wide as moons.

"Really?"

"Really."

This time, she held it perfectly, her smile brighter than any enchanted treasure.

Lumino raced back to his tower, throwing open every window.

He gathered the crystal ball, the spinning top, the puzzle box, the silver bird, the music sphere, and every treasure he had kept locked away.

When he returned to the festival, his arms overflowed with glowing toys.

"I want to share everything.

With everyone."

The children gathered around, faces full of wonder.

Lumino arranged the toys in a circle on the moss.

"We will take turns.

If something breaks, we will fix it together."

The smallest rabbit carefully lifted the crystal ball.

It glowed brighter in her paws than it ever had in Lumino's tower, casting rainbow light across her delighted face.

The fox kit spun the silver top, and it whirled so fast it lifted into the air, dancing between the lanterns.

Stella's music box and Lumino's music sphere played together, creating a harmony neither had made by itself.

As stars appeared above the sparkling trees, Lumino found himself surrounded by friends, all of them laughing, sharing, glowing with joy.

"Your tower must be empty now," Stella said.

Lumino grinned.

"I was hoping it would not stay empty.

Would you all like to visit tomorrow?"

The rabbit bounced excitedly.

"Really?"

"Really."

A tower full of treasures is nothing compared to a tower full of friends.

And as the festival continued into the starlit night, Prince Lumino's heart felt fuller than any room could ever be.
