## Story

The afternoon sun warmed Rory Rabbit's whiskers as he sat by himself on his favorite park bench, carefully sketching the purple coneflowers that danced in the breeze. His ears twitched at the sound of happy squeals coming from the new rope bridge swaying between the tall oak trees. Other animals bounded across confidently, but watching made Rory's paws tremble.

"Those flowers look so real I could smell them!" chirped a voice above Rory's head.

A bright-eyed squirrel hung upside down from a branch, tail swishing with excitement. "I am Nutkin. Could you teach me to draw like that?"

Rory's heart fluttered with joy. No one had ever asked about his art before.

"Well, I suppose I could show you the basics," he smiled shyly, scooting over. "Start with the center, like this."

They spent the afternoon drawing together, sharing colored pencils and giggling over wobbly lines. As golden sunlight filtered through the leaves, Nutkin bounced up excitedly.

"Let us go draw from the rope bridge! The view of the whole park would be perfect!"

Rory's stomach twisted into knots. The bridge swayed gently in the breeze, looking much too high for comfort.

"Oh, um, I remembered I need to organize my carrot collection!"

He gathered his supplies so quickly he dropped his pencils twice, then hopped away, leaving Nutkin staring after him with hurt and confusion in his eyes.

The next morning, Rory was sketching by himself again when a strong gust of wind snatched one of Nutkin's practice drawings from yesterday. The paper sailed through the air like a leaf, landing right in the middle of the rope bridge. Nutkin scampered after it without hesitation, but halfway across, the bridge swayed sharply. "Help!" Nutkin squeaked, holding the ropes with wide eyes. "I cannot move yet! The bridge is moving too much!"

Rory's heart pounded against his ribs. His friend needed help, but his paws felt rooted to the ground. He opened his mouth to call for someone else, but the park was quiet except for them. Nutkin's voice softened with sudden understanding. "Are you worried about the bridge, Rory? That is okay - I was nervous to show you my drawings yesterday. Everyone feels unsure about something. We can be brave together."

Rory clutched his sketchbook close, drawing strength from the familiar feel of paper and pencils. Taking a steady breath, he placed one trembling paw on the first plank. Then another. The bridge creaked softly beneath him. "You are doing great!" Nutkin encouraged. "Only a few more hops. We can hold paws and go back together." Step by careful step, Rory made his way to Nutkin. When their paws finally touched, both friends broke into relieved grins.

Rory and Nutkin had started the Park Bridge Art Club, where animals could share their artwork and practice courage together. "Ready for today's sky-high sketching session?" Nutkin asked, offering his paw with a warm smile.

Rory took it without hesitation, no longer worried about hopping along with his best friend. "Together," he nodded, leading the way onto their special bridge.
