But this was not any ordinary tree; it was a quiet tree that stood apart from all others. He watched as animals played around him, hoping one of them might stop beneath his branches. As days went by, his leaves drooped lower like an umbrella folding closed, and birds perched on other trees while he waited in his sunny patch. One day while sitting quietly under brilliant sunshine, he heard voices coming closer! It was some young animal friends playing hide-and-seek and looking for "the perfect" hiding spot! At first sight of these little creatures running around the quiet tree, he wondered if they would hurry past. But soon enough they started laughing loudly and chatting about everything under the sunny sky! That sunny afternoon, the quiet tree held still while one small squirrel hid behind his trunk and a rabbit counted with both paws over her eyes. ## New Friends: The Tree Finds Company One bright sunny day, while playing hide-and-seek in the forest, a group of young animal friends stumbled upon a lone tree that stood apart from all the others.
