## Story

In a sun-dappled forest beside a sparkling pond lived a cheerful yellow duck named Waddles. He loved nothing more than splashing in the cool water and watching his reflection dance on the surface.

But Waddles had a small problem: he thought only water-loving creatures could be his friends. Whenever forest animals invited him to play among the trees, he shook his head and said, "No thank you, I am a duck. Ducks belong in the water!"

One particularly warm summer morning, Waddles was practicing his swimming when he noticed something different about his favorite lily pad. It was not a lily pad at all. It was a turtle! But this turtle seemed unsure about the water.

"Hello!" called Waddles. "Why are you not swimming? All pond creatures should swim!"

The turtle, named Shell, tucked farther into his shell.

"I never learned how," he whispered.

A wise old blue heron named Grace landed nearby. She watched the interaction with knowing eyes.

"Waddles," Grace said gently, "not everyone finds joy in the same things."

Over the next few days, Grace helped Waddles understand that friendship comes in many forms. She showed him how Shell was excellent at finding the juiciest berries and knew all the best sunny spots for afternoon naps.

Waddles began to see things differently. While he could teach Shell about swimming, Shell could teach him about the wonderful world beyond the pond.

The real test came during the Summer Forest Festival. Usually, Waddles stayed in his pond, but this year was different. With courage in his heart, he waddled onto land to join the celebration.

Shell was there too, and together they created a wonderful game: Shell gave Waddles rides on land, and Waddles helped Shell float in the shallow water using a special leaf raft they designed together.

Their friendship inspired other forest animals. Soon, the pond and forest became one community, with animals sharing their different talents and abilities.
