## Story

In a cozy lighthouse by the summer sea lived a small white rabbit named Whiskers, whose bright blue eyes sparkled like the ocean waves. Every morning, Whiskers helped Lighthouse Keeper Grace dust the old photographs that lined the spiral staircase, straighten the colorful quilts in the guest room, and prepare breakfast for the lighthouse kids who came to visit.

Every day, Whiskers followed the same routine: wake up at sunrise, help Grace with chores, then spend afternoons playing with the lighthouse kids, Tommy, Sarah, and Lucas, who visited during summer vacation. The children loved hearing Whiskers tell stories about the old photographs while they snuggled under Grandma Grace's handmade quilts.

One warm morning, while cleaning the lighthouse windows, Whiskers accidentally knocked over Grace's favorite possession: a special quilt that contained patches from every child who had ever visited the lighthouse. The beautiful quilt floated down from the tower like a colorful cloud, landing in the rosebush below.

Whiskers was too embarrassed to tell Grace what happened. Instead of admitting the mistake, the little rabbit quietly hurried down to retrieve the quilt. But the summer wind had other plans, carrying the patchwork toward the beach. Determined to fix the mistake by himself, Whiskers hopped after the quilt. The path led through Mrs. Peterson's garden, where the children were playing hide-and-seek.

"What is wrong, Whiskers?" Tommy asked, noticing the rabbit's worried expression. Whiskers wanted to keep going but remembered how the lighthouse kids always helped each other. Whiskers steadied himself and explained everything.

"We will help you!" the children declared, and together they followed the quilt's trail to the meadow.

The group moved carefully around driftwood, waded through shallow tide pools, and stepped slowly over slippery rocks. The quilt seemed to dance just out of reach, but they kept following it. Finally, Sarah spotted the quilt caught in a piece of driftwood near the old fishing pier. Working together, they carefully retrieved it, but Whiskers noticed several tears in the beloved blanket.

Looking at the damaged quilt, Whiskers understood something important: trying to hide mistakes only makes them bigger. With misty bright blue eyes, the rabbit knew it was time to tell Grace the truth. Back at the lighthouse, Whiskers found Grace in the kitchen and explained everything. Instead of being angry, Grace hugged the little rabbit and said, "Mistakes happen, dear. What matters is being honest and trying to make things right."

Together, Grace taught Whiskers and the children how to repair the quilt. They even added new patches to remember their adventure. Now, every morning when Whiskers helps with chores, the rabbit takes extra care with the special quilt and shares its new story with pride.
