## Story

High in a castle made of clouds, Mia painted rainbow patterns on walls, windows, and floating banners.

She noticed small colors other people missed: pink in the morning mist, silver at the edge of rain, and blue tints under soft white stairs.

But painting by herself made the castle feel too quiet.

Every morning, Mia went up to her favorite turret, dipped her brush in rainbow paint, and wished someone else could see stories in the clouds.

One quiet morning, a small sound echoed through the hallway. It was half hiccup and half sniffle.

Mia followed it and found a cloud dragon curled behind a curtain. His silver scales looked dull with worry.

"I am Wisp," the dragon whispered. "I made a mistake."

He led Mia to the grand hall. A long rip crossed the cloud-woven ceiling, and soft bits of cloud drifted down like snow.

"I was practicing flying loops for tomorrow's Sky Festival," Wisp said. "My tail caught the ceiling."

Mia looked at her paintbrush. She could cover the rip with a bright mural. For a little while, no one would know.

But the heavy feeling in her chest told her hiding it would not fix it.

"We could paint over it," Mia said.

Wisp lifted his head.

"But then the ceiling might tear more," Mia said. "We should tell the Sky King and ask how to mend it."

Wisp's tail drooped.

"What if he is angry?"

"Then I will stand beside you," Mia said, taking his trembling claw.

The throne room doors opened like morning mist. The Sky King sat on his cumulus throne, reading a list for the festival.

Wisp stepped forward with his wings tucked close.

"I ripped the grand hall ceiling while practicing," he said. "I felt nervous about telling you."

Mia squeezed his claw.

"Thank you for telling me before the rip grew wider," said the Sky King. "Cloud ceilings can be mended, but only when we can see the true shape of the tear."

He brought out a spool of cloud-thread. Mia painted each thread with rainbow color while Wisp held the edges steady. Together, they wove the ceiling closed.

That evening, the patched place shimmered brighter than the rest of the hall.

"It looks like a rainbow river," Wisp said.

"A true one," Mia said.

For the Sky Festival, Wisp flew slow loops through the grand hall. Mia painted the silver mist behind him, turning each path into a stream of color.

After that, Mia did not paint the turret by herself every morning.

Some days Wisp brought her cloud shapes to study. Some days Mia helped him draw safer flying paths.

When a color spilled or a loop went crooked, they looked at the real shape first. Then they decided what to make from it.
