# Pip's Garden of Friendship

_Pip Learns the Garden Has Many Helpers_

Pip loves making sparkles in the garden, but she has not noticed how many other helpers keep it blooming. When a storm bends a small sprout, Pip learns to listen, help, and share the garden's magic.

## Story

High above the daffodils, Pip the fairy spun through the morning light, trailing bright sparkles behind her.

"Watch this!" she called to the butterflies.

Tiny fireworks popped like rainbow bubbles over the flowers.

"No one else makes the garden shimmer like me," Pip said.

But when she looked down, the butterflies had flown to the clover. The bees were busy. The beetles were under leaves.

Pip's sparkles drifted down with no one watching.

That afternoon, Pip tried a triple spiral near the old willow. Her wing brushed a loose spiderweb, and sticky strands caught around her shoulder.

"Please help!" she called.

A butterfly fluttered close, but the strands were too sticky for its soft feet.

As evening light stretched across the garden, a gentle voice rustled above her.

"Hold still, little one."

The willow lowered a thin green twig and loosened the web strand by strand.

"Thank you," Pip said, rubbing her wing. "I did not know trees could help like that."

"The garden has many helpers," the willow said.

Pip looked more closely.

Bees carried pollen from flower to flower. Earthworms loosened the soil. Birds dropped seeds near the fence. Even the quiet moss held water after hot afternoons.

"I thought sparkles were the important part," Pip said.

"Sparkles can help too," said the willow. "They are not the only help."

A low rumble rolled beyond the fence. Rain clouds moved over the pond. Near the water, a small sprout bent in the wind.

Pip had passed that plain sprout many times without looking twice.

This time, she flew down.

"I see you," Pip said.

She raised her wand and made a small dome of light. It arched over the sprout like a rainbow umbrella while the rain tapped all around it.

The sprout straightened. Its leaves opened. Then it stretched taller and taller until it rose above the flowers.

A gentle face appeared among its leaves.

"I am Grove," said the young garden giant. "Thank you for noticing me."

"I almost did not," Pip said.

"You noticed in time," said Grove. "Would you like to see how roots drink rain?"

Pip tucked her wand close. "Yes, please."

After that, Pip still made sparkles. She sprinkled them on petals so bees could find new blooms in morning mist.

Grove hummed low songs that helped roots settle firmly. The willow held shade. The worms worked below. Pip no longer asked who was watching before she helped.
