Thumper's Three Lessons of Friendship
A Tale of True Friendship
Through three connected adventures, Thumper learns that his size and strength can be wonderful gifts when paired with patience and consideration for others. Each challenge helps him understand how to use his gifts more gently with his friends.
In a vibrant meadow filled with dancing wildflowers lived Thumper, a young gray elephant who loved nothing more than collecting colorful butterflies on his trunk. His gentle eyes sparkled with wonder as he watched them flutter away, spreading joy throughout the jungle.

One sunny morning, Thumper spotted a group of animals playing a fun game of leaf-catch. Excited to join in, he rushed over, but his enthusiasm caused him to accidentally knock over the leaf pile with his trunk. The other animals scattered, leaving Thumper feeling frustrated and left out.
“It is not fair!” he trumpeted, stomping his feet. “I wanted to play!”

Wise old Owl glided down from her perch.
“Dear Thumper,” she hooted softly, “sometimes our biggest strengths need the gentlest touch.”
Taking Owl’s advice, Thumper found the animals again. This time, he walked carefully and spoke softly.
“May I help rebuild the leaf pile?”
The animals welcomed him warmly, and together they created the biggest leaf pile ever.

Later that week, Thumper discovered a beautiful garden where Rabbit was struggling to reach some high branches. Instead of rushing in, Thumper remembered his first lesson and approached carefully.
“Would you like some help?” he offered.
Rabbit smiled gratefully, and soon they were working as a team, with Thumper gently using his trunk to lower branches for Rabbit to harvest.

“When we work together,” Rabbit shared, “everything becomes possible.”
The next day, Thumper faced his biggest challenge yet. Windy weather had scattered branches across the path to the water hole. Some animals were getting angry and crowding each other.

Thumper stepped forward.
“Friends,” he called out, thinking of all the times his friends had helped him slow down and listen, “let us work together instead of getting upset.”

Working as one, they soon cleared the path. That evening, as all the animals gathered to drink, Thumper realized something important: his size was not a problem - it was a gift that could help others when used with kindness and patience.
