The Lighthouse Mouse's Beach Buddies
A Tale of True Friendship
Pip the mouse knows every quiet corner of the beach. When the lighthouse kids need a new place to play, he teams up with Sally to leave a sparkling trail to a hidden cove.
On a sun-drenched beach near the old lighthouse, lived a small gray mouse named Pip. While other mice preferred cozy corners indoors, Pip loved watching the lighthouse keeper’s children play in the sand from his hidden spot behind a weathered piece of driftwood.

One morning, Pip noticed the lighthouse kids looking disappointed. Their favorite beach spot for building sandcastles had been covered by seaweed after a storm. They could not find a new perfect spot to play their games.
“If only I could help them,” Pip whispered to himself, his whiskers twitching thoughtfully. He knew the beach’s tide pools, driftwood piles, and quiet sandy corners from his early morning explorations.

Pip decided to leave a trail of tiny seashells leading to the most beautiful hidden cove he knew. But when he tried carrying the shells, they were too heavy. The waves kept washing away his careful arrangements, and his paws got very tired. Pip sat on a small rock, feeling discouraged.
“Maybe a tiny mouse cannot help after all,” he sighed.

That is when he noticed how the morning sunlight made certain stones sparkle.
“What if I use pebbles instead of shells?” Pip began collecting the shiniest pebbles he could find. This time, he tried rolling the pebbles instead of carrying them. It worked much better! But the trail still was not noticeable enough for the children to spot.

While thinking about his next move, Pip saw his friend Sally, a sandpiper bird, hopping nearby.
“Sally!” he called out. “Would you help me make something special?” Together, they created a beautiful pattern: Pip rolled the sparkly pebbles while Sally arranged them with her beak into the shape of an arrow pointing toward the hidden cove.

The next morning, Pip watched excitedly as the lighthouse children found the glittering arrow. Their eyes lit up as they followed it to the perfect new play spot, complete with smooth sand and tiny tide pools for exploring.

From that day on, Pip noticed something wonderful. The children began leaving little treats near his driftwood: bits of cookie and cheese wrapped in paper. They never saw their tiny helper, but they knew someone special was watching over their beach adventures.
