Petal and the Curious Mermaid Squad
A Tale of True Friendship
Petal grows sparkling water lilies beside a stream, but a group of mermaids keeps borrowing them for flower crowns. With help from a turtle and singing morning glories, Petal finds a gentle way to speak up.
In a flowering meadow lived a tiny garden fairy named Petal. She loved tending her colorful blooms, especially the sparkly water lilies that grew along a gentle stream.

One morning, Petal noticed something unusual: a group of giggling mermaids splashing in her stream. They were wearing flower crowns made from her precious water lilies.
Instead of asking them about it, she hid behind a cattail, too unsure to speak up.
“These are the prettiest flowers we have ever seen!” exclaimed Marina, the lead mermaid with purple hair. “I wish we knew who grew them!”

Gathering her courage, Petal tried writing a note using dewdrops, but it dissolved before the mermaids could read it. Then she attempted to get their attention by dropping flower petals into the stream, but they thought it was just falling leaves.

When her attempts failed, Petal realized that staying quiet was only making things harder.
“Sometimes the hardest thing is the best thing to do,” she whispered to herself.
The next day, Petal created a tiny boat from a buttercup and sailed it toward the mermaids. But her voice was still too quiet, and they could not hear her over their splashing.

Just then, a wise old turtle named Winston surfaced nearby.
“Why do you not ask your flower friends to help?” he suggested.
Petal’s eyes lit up with an idea. She gathered the musical morning glories that grew along the bank. When the mermaids arrived, the flowers began to sing a sweet melody, giving Petal a calm moment to introduce herself.

“Hello! I am Petal, and I grow these water lilies,” she said, her voice stronger than ever. The mermaids gasped in delight.
“We have been hoping to meet you!” Marina exclaimed. “Would you teach us how to grow flowers too?”
