Turtle Rescue Squad
Animal Friends Help a Sea Turtle from a Net
On a beautiful beach, Brave Turtle and Kind Sea Turtle are best friends. When Kind Sea Turtle gets tangled in an old fishing net, Brave Turtle calls for help from beach animals and a human rescue volunteer so everyone can work safely together.
The Best of Friends
On a warm beach lived two best friends: Brave Turtle and Kind Sea Turtle. They played in the shallows, rested on sunny rocks, and watched tiny fish flicker through the water.

Brave Turtle liked exploring tide pools. Kind Sea Turtle noticed when others needed help. Together, they made a thoughtful team.
Their friends included gulls who could spot things from the sky, crabs who knew every footprint in the sand, and a beach volunteer named Maya who checked the shore each morning for litter.
Tangled in a Net
One afternoon, a loose fishing net washed into the shallows.

Kind Sea Turtle did not see it under the water and became tangled near one flipper.
“Stay still,” Brave Turtle called. “I am getting help.”
Brave Turtle did not bite or pull the net. He knew that pulling might make it tighter.
He called to the gulls. The gulls circled above Maya’s bright orange beach vest. The crabs tapped their claws near the waterline to show where the turtle waited.
Maya saw the signal and hurried over with gloves, a rescue towel, and safe cutting tools.
Everyone Has a Job
Everyone had a job.

The gulls kept watch from above. The crabs guided beach walkers around the rescue area. Brave Turtle stayed close enough for his friend to see him, but far enough to give Maya room.
Maya spoke softly while she worked.
“Almost done,” she said. “You are doing well.”
She cut one loop, then another. Kind Sea Turtle kept still. The last strand slipped free.
Brave Turtle touched noses with his friend.
Freedom at Last
Kind Sea Turtle swam a slow circle in the clear water.

Nothing hurt. Nothing pulled. The net was gone.
Maya placed the old net in a trash sack so it could not catch anyone else. The crabs danced sideways. The gulls called loudly into the wind.
“Thank you,” Kind Sea Turtle said to Brave Turtle.
“I called the right helpers,” Brave Turtle said. “That was the brave part.”
The Birth of the Turtle Rescue Squad
After that day, the beach friends made a plan.

The gulls would watch for nets and plastic from the sky. The crabs would mark safe paths around nests and tide pools. Brave Turtle and Kind Sea Turtle would tell young sea creatures to stay away from strange ropes.
Maya made a sign near the beach path:
“If you see tangled wildlife, do not pull. Call a beach volunteer.”
The Turtle Rescue Squad was not loud or flashy. It was careful, patient, and ready to find the right help when the ocean needed a friend.
